Ministry of Education organise School Projects
During the last week of term various activities and projects were organised by the Ministry of Education through the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) country wide for Grades 3, 4 and 5.
Grade 3 were required to carry out cultural activities outlining the importance of a wholesome diet, this was done using traditional songs, dances and using ornaments. The children were asked to perform a skit with a religious message. They also displayed traditional foods in an improvised market scenario.
Grade 4 were given two projects to complete, one was in home science and the other in connection with agriculture. In home science they were required to prepare and cook some potatoes using the boiling method. In agriculture they were asked to prepare a seedbed for planting vegetables.
Grade 5 had two projects. In home science they were required to skillfully wash and dry a cotton fabric. Their task in agriculture was to prepare a seedbed and effect germination of a climbing fruit plant.
